The Grass is Greener

They say the grass is greener
On the other side of town
But I'm the one who's seen it
And I just won't let it get me down

They say the lights are brighter
On a stage I never played
But I find myself inspired
By a man who doesn't know my name

And oh...
I don't know if I'm feelin' what I should be feelin' but I know
I don't need a reason all I gotta do is take my time and let it flow
I'm sittin' on the side and makin' money for my pride
I'll write another rhyme - I'm waitin' for a sign

They say he's really somethin'
From what I've seen, it's true
He's got the gift, that's one thing
But I've got somethin' too

They say each man's an island
You sink or you can swim
Although my prayers are silent
I learned this song from him

I've learned from you
Exactly what I got to do
I won't give up
You've shown me the way
I know that you
Would do the same in my position and so I pray for the day
When the grass is greener on this side
